Scholarships Awarded

We are delighted to announce that two scholarship recipients have recently been been announced. These recipients will document and research the restoration process of Australia’s First Piano.

The Feilman Foundation have awarded their PhD scholarship to an exceptional candidate who is in the final stages of her masters in Melbourne. She will join the piano in the UK once her scholarship commences.

Professor Steve Chapman CBE has also announced a new award, the Vice Chancellors’ Founding Pianos Masters Scholarship, to piano-tuner Paul Tunzi.

Technical skills are at risk of being lost and it is imperative to capture these for future generations. The two scholarships recipients will research historical processes and investigate possible modern technological solutions to retain the skills of this rare and dying art form.</p
